Moving, pack, Moving, packing

Sorry, there how not been that many post recently. I have been packing so much and moving so many days during the week, that there is just not enough hours in the day! WE are officially moving on Saturday and I am so excited. But, because of having to pack and move, I have had to put running on the back burner. I feel bad about that, but I would rather take care of moving and packing first and then get back on my running schedule in my new home!

Speaking of moving, gotta get back to moving some stuff around in my new house!!

Take a Breather and just look

I went out today to run 3 miles. I had not run since Monday, so I knew this was going to be three different things...
1. Hard to run, since I had not run that far since Monday.
2. A very beautiful day outside
3. Tiring, considering that I had not drank as much water as I should have already

Despite these things, I wanted to go run because I did not want to waste the beautiful weather just sitting inside. This is what I got to look at outside...

A straight open field with beautiful blue skies. Now tell me, how can you not go outside in this. Impossible, that is what it is. Even if it just for a short walk. As I was running I was listening to my iPod and when I got to 2.5 miles I decided to turn it off, because I just wanted to run and think.
I wanted to be able to take in everything that God has created around me and what he has given not only me but everybody to look at.
This is the road that I run down. Despite the fact that it is completely straight, it has some great views off to the sides of the road. The people who live down here are amazing. I have never been that scared to run down this road considering that I am completely out in the country. I love this picture though because it is like you are looking out to forever. You can not see the end of the road (even though I know where it is) you can not tell. It is like your life is an open road, just waiting for you to journey out onto it and see what you can do, find and accomplish.

Sometimes in life we get so frustrated with small things. I know myself that I am a victim to this, and I should not be, but it is hard to get around it. After my run today, I decided to take Milly out for a walk, since it had been a while since I did that. I could probably run about .5 miles with her before she started getting tired. She is my littler explorer and loves to be outside.

This picture is not very good, but she would not sit still. She wanted to go smell all kinds of things. As I was walking her, I was thinking about what I just said, about not getting frustrated or sweating the little things. I looked at the views around me and realized that running has been my release a lot of times in the past few months. It is so nice to just go out (without an iPod) or music blaring, and to just look around at what God has created and what all there is to look at and listen too.

I thought this was such a cool picture that I was able to take through the trees. Even though the sun was blaring today, it was such a pretty and beautiful day to be outside.

I was going to go run yesterday, but saw that the road was closed down. Well this is why....They had a lot of pot holes in the road in this area and they decided to fill them in. This rock was not any fun to run on. I walked on it, every time I came to it, because I almost fell the first time. It is not just smooth asphalt. It is very big rocky pieces of asphalt. This was not fun at all to run on!!

I will leave you with this picture. Remember, if there is a beautiful day outside, even if you only have a few minutes, walk outside and just enjoy the fresh air. Even if you are not running, take a short walk and listen and look at what God has created for us to see.

Snow Weekend!!! It actually stuck!!

I wish I could have gotten pictures, up sooner, but I am just now able to get the pictures uploaded. I came in last week on Friday from Austin and had heard there was snow, but figured it had melted by the time I got home. That is usually what happens, so I did not think it would still be there. Whenever I got home, this is what I discovered....

I could not even get my car up my driveway because it was so wet and slick. I had to pack my car on the road infront of my house!!! I was so happy to see actually snow. It was not just ice, but snow!!!!

I took Milly out in the snow and she did not know what it was. She did not like the snow at all. She walked around a little bit and then ran back inside.

Since I had never seen snow before, I decided I wanted to do everything that I had not been able to do. I made my first snowman ever. I was so excited about this!!! His name was Farmer Brian, since Brian was not there yet. haha

I told Brian about everything with the snow and how I wanted to have a snowball fight and he said that he was going to kill my snowman whenever I got home. As soon as he got home, he knocked on the window for me to come look, and he took running start and flew through my snowman. I was so mad. I was on the phone with my sister-in-law and I started screaming on the phone. I was so mad and laughing at the same time.
Anyways, this is what I was able to recreate of my first snowman......

Milly was freezing cold and did not enjoy being out in the freezing cold. As you can see, this snowman does not look near as good as my first one. It does not even have a face this time. haha

This is what I woke up to the next morning. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Do not get me wrong, I was so ready for the snow to be gone though.

We took Milly out to the bathroom and she walked as close to the house as she could so that she would not have to touch the snow. I felt so bad for her, but Brian and I could not help but to laugh!

This is what our driveway looked like after Brian drove my car up the driveway. My side is the swerved side and Brian's side is the straight side. He was able to get up the driveway the first time. It took Brian around 15-20 minutes to get up my driveway.

We were trying to figure out creative ways to shovle the snow in our yard. Well needless to way, what we tried did not work. haha
It was an awesome Valentines weekend and I am so glad I got to share it with the man that I love!!!

Kept going and felt great

I did not get a chance to run last week because I was in Austin for most of the week with the TCEA conference. I had a great time there and it was so much fun. I learned so much about different technology and different ways to use it within the classroom. It was a huge conerence and there was close to 8,000 people there. Hopefully after I start teaching I will be able to again.

Since I did not get to run last week, I decided to redo last weeks schedule this week. I started running, planning to only run 3 miles. Instead, I ran 4 miles. Once I started running, I guess since I did not run last week, I just kept going and it felt so great. I was alone just me and my thoughts. It was so nice to clear my head. This is what I wore today. This is after I ran. I love my running skirts!!!!

Next up will be 5 miles on Wednesday, running 3 miles and then walking some and running some on the following 2 miles.
Here is a picture of my amazing puppy Milly!!!!

5 Miles and Feeling GRRRREAT!!!!!

Since I was not able to run 5 miles last Saturday like I was supposed to do, I decided that I needed to run this Saturday no matter if it was raining, cold or hot. Saturday morning I woke up and I thought about my sister-in-law because she was supposed to be running 10 miles that morning. No way was I going to run at 6:30 in the morning. I got dressed in my tight leggings, running skirt, sleevless shirt and then another off brand underarmor long sleeve shirt. I also had on gloves and a beanie. As I walked outside, a cold wind hit my face, and I knew this was going to make for a fun run. :0)

I set my garmin and started running. Since I live on a straight road, I knew I was not going to just run up and down to equal 5 miles, so I varied it as much as I could. I ran .5 miles down the road, .5 back up, 1 mile down, .5 back up and so on and so forth. Let's just say I had to write it on my hand so that I would remember what I was doing. At around mile 2, I had to take off my gloves, and then at about mile 3 I had to take off my gloves. I ran back my house and threw them on the porch so that I would remember where they were at. Around mile 3.5-4 I had to stop because my shins were killing me. The road that run on does not have much comfort in it. Then I had to stop again around 4.5 miles, because my shins were hurting again. They did not keep hurting whenever I finished my run, so I did not have to ice them. I do need to be careful so that I do not hurt myself as I am training.

I finished up my five miles and I felt like I could run for another mile or so. I was so excited, and now, one day later, I am not sore at all. I am so amazed that my body is not hurting. It took me about an hour to run the 5 miles, but I was excited that I was able to run most of the time without stopping.

Up next week is a repeat of this week as I will be behind a week.

Hurry Up then Wait

Currently Brian is training right now in school and is doing an amazing job! I have to fend for myself at home, which can be hard, when you just get married and are not used to really living without somebody always there! You know how you are supposed to have that normal, kinda difficult first year of marriage where you are getting used to your finances, habits and just each other in general! That is not exactly what Brian and I have, since he has been training/in school. I keep telling him that our first year of marriage is going to be during our second year. That is when I will officially (hopefully) have a new teaching job, he will officially start his job, and we will be in our home (hopefully where we want to live).

To explain the title of the post. When my dad was in the military he was always doing something that they called Hurry up then Wait! What that means for those of you who do not know is that you hurry up and do everything that you are supposed to/told to do, and then you wait until you get your next orders! This is exactly what Brian is doing right now. He is hurrying up to finish everything and then he has to wait. We are supposed to find out today where we are going to be placed, so I am trying to keep myself busy today so that I will not think about it until I talk to him tonight.

As for my running. I have been really bad. I was supposed to run 5 miles this past Saturday, but it was freezing outside, so that did not happen! Then I was supposed to run 2 miles Monday, but I was busy cleaning all day, so that did not happen either. Well to make it up, I ran 3 miles today on my parents treadmill, because it is freezing outside. It felt amazing to run. I decided to repeat last week this week, so it actually worked out great for me. Now, hopefully I can get Brian to come run 5 miles with me on Saturday. I just have to figure out a good place to run for that long in my town. eeeeekkk!
